Founder & Executive Director
Awoken at Trinity University, I found myself engulfed in a world of violence and immorality known as the public school system. Impacted by a 12-year old pregnant girl, I began to see the insanity of dependence on a corrupt systematic approach to alter the hearts of man. After studying America’s Godly Heritage author David Barton, along with the journal entries of America’s Founding Fathers, I began to realize democracy was created to govern a Christian people. The massive increase in teenage violence rates, teenage pregnancy rates, murder, school shootings, suicide rates, drug abuse, physical abuse & neglect left me wondering if the solution to our nation’s greatest crisis could be found in a textbook. My conclusion was the only cure for a virus such as this could be the Word of God working through the hearts of man to bring reconciliation, newness, & hope into the lives of a dying and decaying generation. It is for freedom that I board this ship we call Still Water Christian Ministries and set sail into the wide-open spaces our Lord has called me.
Verse: James 4:14 “Life is a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.”
Ministry Partner/Camper Recruitment Coordinator
I grew up going to camp every summer at Kanakuk, then served as a counselor there for 3 summers and absolutely loved it! I saw how the LORD used camp, counselors and sports as a platform for the gospel in my life. I graduated from the University of Texas back in 2010 and went to Turkey for two years, where I met my husband, Rodney. Believe it or not, we both actually grew up in the DFW area, but of course had to go overseas to meet - God’s funny like that!
Rodney’s a football coach at Mesquite Poteet High School in Dallas. We have two beautiful kids -- Paul Wade and Ana. The LORD has used this ministry to bless our family in so many ways, and we are humbled to also be a part of all that He is doing in and thru Still Water.
Verse: Psalm 90:14 “Satisfy us in the morning with Your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. ”
I grew up and have lived in south and central Texas my entire life. I never attended camp as a child nor had the fellowship that I have witnessed since I began working with Still Water in
2008. Their spirit and compassion has transformed my life and I continue
to grow with The Lord each day. My daughter looks forward to camp every summer and loves hanging out with the team.
I love the community, faith and belonging the ministry brings into children’s lives. I am proud to be a part of this organization.
Verse: Romans 12:6 “And we each have different gifts, according to the
grace that has been given to us...”
San Antonio Area Director
Growing up in San Antonio, it has always been my passion to bring the Word of God into our schools. Starting Christian clubs on my middle school, high school, and college campuses was something God weighed heavy on my heart. After teaching for an inner city charter school for six years and then founding a new charter school as an assistant principal, God showed me that many of our younger generations were missing something in their lives. The Lord introduced me to Still Water Christian Ministries in 2013 as I was starting a bible study at my inner city school as a teacher and coach. With the support of Still Water, we were able to grow that ministry from about 25 students to over 120 students, pass out over 200 bibles, and scholarship almost 60 students to attend summer camp. I have seen the impact Still Water Christian Ministries has had on these students, their families, and their school and have felt God calling me do more to further His Kingdom. It is with great joy that the Lord has provided me the opportunity to pick up my cross, go into our communities to spread His name and show students that what they are missing is a relationship with their Father Jesus Christ!
Verse: Ephesians 4:11-13 “It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, 12 to prepare God' people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”
Growing up on a farm and ranch on the edge of the Palo Duro Canyon outside of Claude, Texas I placed my faith in Jesus Christ as my Savior very early in life. During middle school while attending a camp in Colorado I committed my life to full time Christian service however He might lead. After graduation from Baylor the Lord led me to the ministry of Still Water Christian Ministries. God brought Matt and I together through our service with Still Water and we now have three girls, Mikayla Joy, Brea Faith and Aubrey Marie. It is a joy to serve in a lifestyle that allows us to see life transformation. We would be delighted for you to join this journey with us!
Verse: Philippians 4:4-7 “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be made known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” The Lord is sufficient and sovereign. When I cast my cares at His feet with prayer and gratitude there is great peace!”
While I was born and raised in Southern California, my heart feels most at home here in Texas. My handsome husband of 17 years and I moved our family to the Hill Country 13 years ago. We have been blessed with three beautiful daughters. I came to know Still Water Camps through a dear friend. Our family finds it a privilege to be apart of an organization that calls on the Lord for direction and guidance, and to see His mighty works in action. We look forward to many more years of this ministry as employee, campers and staff.
I have felt the presence of Christ in my life from a very early age and am proud to be a child of God. It is my daily reminder to be the vessel He intended me to be and to leave my will aside so that His may be done.
Verse: Hebrews 10:24-25 “Let us be concerned for one another, to help one another to show love and to do good. Let us not give up the habit of meeting together, as some are doing. Instead, let us encourage one another all the more, since you see that the Day of the Lord is coming nearer.”
I was raised in Calallen, a suburb of Corpus Christi, Texas by a loving and complex family that ensured I was raised with Jesus Christ. My relationship with Jesus has been present in all stages of my life from the curveballs that life throws to the celebrations I have been blessed with. Through Gods love and grace I have been able to serve others, specifically youth, from the time I was a youth myself into my career upon graduation from Texas State University.
I taught and coached at the high school level for 6 years working with students from all walks of life and with different needs. I desire to help those around me know they are valued, loved, and with purpose in our Lord.
Still Water has been a vessel for me to do this as I worked with them to serve our youth. In this season of my life I have now stepped out of teaching after much prayer and am now working with Still Water on a year round basis. I am married to Brad and we are expecting our first baby Luke James!
Verse: Psalm 46:10 “be still and know that I am God.”
Director of Staffing
San Antonio Staff Associate
San Antonio is the only place I have called home. I was truly blessed to be raised by two parents who loved each other and the Lord. Their dedication to raising kids in a Christian household fostered the moment, at the age of 9, where I exchanged my life of sin and death for eternal life. During my sophomore year of college I had my first first experience with Still Water at Weekend of Warriors, and my heart for kids was changed forever. God was clearly moving me towards a life dedicated to reaching the lost, teaching his children, and going nuts at camp. The door opened into Still Water after I graduated from UTSA, and I haven't looked back. I am excited to allow God to use my life to make an eternal impact through the ministry that is Still Water!
Verse: Matthew 11:29-30 “Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
